Example

Find the basis weight in pounds for a ream of 25" × 38" Book paper that weighs 67.3 grams per square meter.

Formula:

Grams per m2 × Basic Size

1406.5

= Basis Weight (lbs.)

Equation:

 67.3 × (25 × 38)

1406.5

= 45 lbs. (45.46 rounded to the nearest whole number)
