Use this calculator to determine the linear footage (and yardage) of a roll of paper of a given basis weight (see the example below). When filling in these fields, use decimal fractions where necessary; and give all lengths in inches and weight in pounds. For your convenience, below we have included supplemental tables of approximate basis weights for C1S & C2S SBS and recycled board.

Example
Find the linear footage and yardage for a roll of basis 50# Offset paper that is 26″ wide and weighs 100 lbs.
Formula:
|
(Roll Weight × [Area of Basic Size]) × 500 (Basis Weight × Roll Width) × 12 |
= | Linear Feet |
÷ 3 = | Linear Yards |
Equation:
|
(100 × [25 × 38]) × 500 (50 × 26) × 12 |
= | 3,045 Linear Feet |
÷ 3 = | 1,015 Linear Yards |
Note that in the example above the results are rounded to the nearest foot and yard respectively.
